Hi Tom,

No problem :)

As you probably know there's tons of social networks all spewing news. I would suggest, on top of what you have on Very Recent now, Mixx, Propeller, Mahalo, and if possible Friendfeed.

Cosmetically, I'd try to make the site look something like Google Reader's List View which wouldn't be too far different than what you have now, but it would be a bit easier to read.

Hi Ken,

Found your tweet here:
http://twitter.com/doublehead/statuses/862157588

Thanks for the kind words about Very Recent.

What do you think - does the thing have enough search sources, or should I add more ?

It's kind of hard to strike a balance between enough and too much information, while trying to keep the site's design as simple as possible.

If so, what search source do you think would be good to add?

Any other ideas on how I can improve the site - for example, would you like options added, to be able to choose which sources are shown, and in which order?

Thanks again and shouts out from another pretty old internet marketing guy, an American ex-pat now living in Berlin, DE...

Very nice blog and something dear to my heart.

Here's what I would do . . .

First, go into your admin and click on Options. Change the title of your blog to show separate words all beginning with caps and remove the "'s blog" at the end.

Next, I would go to http://socialmarker.com and sign up for all the social sites.

Finally, I'd click on the titles of each of your articles to open their individual page and I'd submit each one to all the social sites through Social Marker.

I'd primarily make sure I submitted them to Digg, StumbleUpon, Propeller, del.ici.ous, and technorati. The others aren't as important but they do help too.

Twitter is also good for getting a quick boost in traffic as well as getting noticed by Google.

I'd also write something pro Ron Paul as he has a lot of online supporters that might start sending people your way.

I got this blog started but not sure how to promote it. I hoped to bring some awareness as to the importance of taking care of our Nation plus economy for if not then small business or start-ups stand no chance. A climate of war, excess surveillance and fear are not healthy for business.

Hi Theresa,

Well that would all depend on which blog format you're using.

Wordpress has some really nice ones at:

http://wordpress.org/search/themes

It takes a little while to rummage through them all, but you're bound to find one that fits well :)

I am still trying to search for a blog format that is not too plain for my web. Do you have any ideas where I could find blog styles and maybe a sample of one that looks interesting, easy to set-up and good format? Let me know! :)
