Building Flow to Your Articles By Learning How to Write an Outline

Starting any document, whether its an article, ebook, newspaper column, term paper, or anything else where you present an argument or display information on a subject, should always begin with an outline.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be extremely detailed. Just something that’ll get your thoughts together and help your presentation get from point A to point Z.

Think of it as a road map. Most times you just need to know which highway to get on, and which exit to take. So your map doesn’t have to be that intricate.

But then there’s times when you have to maneuver through a big city, and so your map may have to be a lot more detailed and explicit. Street names, landmarks, and every one way street may need to be shown to get you to where you need to be.

Likewise, you outline should be as detailed as you need it to be in order to maneuver through all the facts so that you create a smooth “trip” for yourself and your audience.

Rather than go into it too deeply here, I’ve set up a free tutorial on how to write an outline that you can freely use.
