How Automated Should My Article Submission Software Be?
The comment and question sent in was . . .
“I need to get my articles out fast because I have very little time to devote to submitting them. Can I just use one of those “click and walk away” submitters and still be ok?”
My answers to this is . . .
1. If you work on the Internet then you know that putting as much of your work on “auto-pilot” as you can will give you the best chance of success. By doing so you free yourself up to pursue new streams of income, give yourself the opportunity to keep up to date with the newest trends, and perhaps even find some leisure time to spend with family and friends.
However, there are some things that need special attention like split testing, site analytics, product planning and development, and other things like these.
In fact most experts will tell you that only about 75% of your online business should even be considered for auto-pilot, and that you need to keep constant vigil on the other 25%.
Content relevancy would fall into that 25% and will make you or break you if you don’t pay attention to it!
Every one of the search engines is relevancy based. This means that if you want to be in their good graces and get good link placement, then you absolutely have to follow suit. Otherwise, neither the search engines nor the people using them will be able to find your content.
This is especially true with article submissions. Placing your articles in irrelevant categories would be like throwing a bunch of stones in the air and hoping they fall to the ground and make a tower. More than likely this wouldn’t happen, and neither would spewing out articles into any random category build structure for your business.
There are over 15,000 category choices among all the article directories and each cateogry is considered the main keyword for material contained in it. Then you have sub-categories and sub-sub-categories that further fine tune the relevancy of the content making it easier for the search engines to index and for readers to find.
Unfortunately, there’s no auto-pilot for fine tuning category choice. Oh its possible to automate placement into general categories, but when you really want your articles in the best possible category for indexing, you have to do it manually.
So if you’re going to use an article submission software, make sure that it gives you the opportunity to visually handle the 25% in the process necessary for content relevancy.
2. Many of the existing article directories have had enough of these “one clickers” and are taking measures to block them. Some won’t even let you log in if you’re not present to fill in the “captcha” or”Image coding” requirement, and even more have added the captcha to the submission form itself.
So there’s a lot of high ranking article directories the one clickers can’t reach.
3. Some of the fully automated submitters are little more than bulk emailers that send off your article to ezine owners and individuals looking for articles to post on their own site.
But with the amount of articles being submitted these days, the odds your article would be used by an ezine owner would be astronomical. It would have to be seriously outstanding for it see the light of day.
So all in all, you’re better off to use a semi-automated submitter that let’s you have some control over:
1. Where your article is going
2. Its relevancy (category choice)
3. Its formatting (can’t be an expert with a messy unorganized article post)
4. Getting through security (captchas)
This makes it possible to automate 75% of the submission process while allowing you to maintain the most important 25%.
So fast is good, but quality is just as important, and in some cases even more important. If you don’t have the time to submit your articles properly, then you certainly don’t have time to submit them sloppily. You’d be better off to go semi-automated and hire someone to submit for you.

What an excellent article! I really applaud you Ken for this wonderful piece of writing that not only shows your experience in SEO but also your excellent ability to present your ideas.
I was ready to pay an expert to provide me probably not more than 30% of the information I read in this article.
How can I thank you?
I think I do …
