To Click Or Not To Click: Back Link Back Aches for Site Promoters

I get asked this question a lot . . .

“Once I submit my article, how long will it take before I start seeing sales from people clicking on my back link?”

The answer to this question depends on a couple of things:

1. Which directories did you submit to?
2. How well was your article written and what’s the popularity of the topic?

1. There are roughly over 1,300 directories listed from PR8 to PR0. Most of these “hand moderate” their article intake so the more popular, higher ranked sites get in more articles, thus it takes longer to moderate them all. So you could wait anywhere from a week to 6 months before your articles get posted on these higher ranked sites.

Which is why we suggest to people that they should submit to directories with a variety of page rank levels in order to give you a balance. The lower ranked sites get less articles and moderate faster. So your submission would get posted either immediately, or within a week’s time.

The higher ranked sites would give you a fast track to a higher listing in a search query, but the lower ones will get you on any level of search query faster.

2. This however, is the most important aspect that determines if your articles will bring you sales or not . . .

People don’t visit the article directories just to click on bio box links. They’re looking for good, expert advice, and when they find someone who can teach them something, they’re more apt to click on the recommended link.

So the idea is to use your articles to teach people something, and the more valuable the lesson is, the more inspired your readers will be to follow your recommendations.

Successful article marketers then, need to think more like a teacher and less like a salesman.

Does it take more work?

Ayuh!

But the benefits far outweigh the extra time and effort. I mean, who wouldn’t want people seeking them out?

This is what tends to happen when you submit high quality, informative articles that really get to the meat of a topic. People will start looking for your little gems of wisdom and gladly listen to your recommendations.

Isn’t common sense wonderful?
